When Life Hands You Lemons
Krystal dedicated her expertise in research and development to the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceutical science for over a decade before launching Juice Joint. From initial concept and development to testing and scaling up, Krystal guided a myriad of formulations from theory to large-scale production.
Leveraging this experience, as well as her innate love for from-scratch cooking, Krystal brought her innovative and analytical prowess to life with Juice Joint.
Krystal was first inspired, like many entrepreneurs, by a problem that needed solving. Matthew, who was working in a music studio at the time, was coming home each day smelling like cannabis. The issue lay in the fact that musicians and performers rely heavily on their vocal instrument, which was being continuously affected by cannabis smoke inhalation.
Setting out to solve this conundrum, Krystal first began by making a series of tinctures and edible infusions in her lab. From chocolate-covered strawberries to mac and cheese, the cutting-edge trailblazer tested every eating experience under the sun.
However, the experiment that won Matthew’s favor, and would soon do the same to scads of cannabis enthusiasts across the country, was her freshly made, canna-infused juice.
